Hello BR3TT

Glad we were able to help you out...I've moved your post to the LH support area in order to receive more attention... wink

Could you be a little more specific as to what exactly you need to know in reference to having two OS's on your HD?

I'll take a stab at guessing that you wish to know how to setup LH and your main OS...If I am correct in my assumption please view the following thread...If you have more questions...please post back.

Thanks *Starz* cool

Ok.

Here's what I want. (I'm not the easiest person to understand but I hope you get my drift) lol

I want Windows Xp (Which I have On my Primary Harddrive Now)

I have a 10 gig SLAVE Harddrive which has nothing On it (O/S Wise).

I would like to keep XP (On my primary) and use Longhorn (For Testing etc) On my SLAVE.

Is this possible? Like when I turn on my computer, I can choose XP or Longhorn.

I've seen it done, but never really caught the drift how. embarrassed

Ah well, if anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. thumbsup

* I don't mind If I can't do it with a SLAVE and I have to use some of my Primary* smilenod This is no problem.

Thanks for your help,

Brett.

just start the lh setup when you are in XP...
it'll ask you where to install it (here you select your slave)
and that's it smile

10 gigs is plenty to install LH to. There isn't a partitioning program in the LH setup ( or any other windows setups afaik) but if you have two HDDs then just choose the letter corresponding to that drive as martinsc says. Disk partitioning is a bit more complex but if you have partition magic or something similar it's pretty straight forward.

So with that...

When I start up.. It'll ask me if I want to run LH (On the slave)?

Or will XP auto-load then how will I get into LH?

Thanks for your help!

If it defaults to XP (& gives you no choices after the POST) when you start up your PC you may need to go into your BIOS and change the HD boot order from 0 to 1 (to boot from the other HD).

I installed mine on a 8 GB partition (w/ Partition Magic) thru XP same as "martinsc" above, says. I get a OS choice screen after the POST screen (XP or Lh) & there i can choose which OS to boot from, mine defaults to Lh if i don't choose XP within 2 SECONDS!!. I have to be quick & ready if i want to boot to XP.

Good luck Brett....shreader
