I've asked for reasons why I should vote/support John McCain before and no one posted back. The only thing that seems to get posted are reasons not to vote for Obama.

And this is from someone who did vote for McCain in 2000. But I'd like to know why I should this time? He's voted with Bush 95% of the time in the last few years. How is that change from what we've got now?

Yeah, but looking at it from both angles (I don't vote) it seems both sides really have no hard evidence to support change. It is all contradicting each other and that is it.
One wants to remove troops from Iraq the other wants to put more troops in place.
One wants tax cuts the other wants to raise taxes.
And so on. My biggest thing about Obama, seems superficial, is the flag lapel and his reasoning for not wearing it. If he does not wear it proudly or truly understand in his heart why he should wear it then he does not deserve to be my Commander in Chief.
He should be very proud to wear that lapel on his coat. Yes, people have questioned his patriotism by not wearing it and I do not agree with that. To me it does not show patriotism but shows that you are PROUD to wear it and show it off to other people. Not the "pin" but our "American Flag".

Personally I think an argument over a flag pin is ridiculous. There are plenty of huge issues to discuss and for that to be one of them is just absurd. For that to even come up in a debate, it's just silly. If the man wasn't patriotic, why the hell would you even go through the trouble? I mean really?
And the tax thing really irritates me. McCain's tax plan would actually hurt the middle class and help those making loads of money already, where as Obama's plan would provide more money in tax relief for those making under 250K a year. Which I'm fairly positive is most of us.

Oh yeah. I agree. Debating it like they have been is stupid. I am just simply pointing out how both parties are wrong. Republicans for saying he is not patriotic and Democrats for trying to defend his patriotism. Goes to show how something so small is perceived differently by people. What do you think the big problems cause?
What, you don't make $250/yr???? Don't worry, me either.

Lets not forget about Obama taking the american flag off his plain and putting his own symbol on it.
He has noting to do with the American flag. Seems un-American to me.

Here's Obama's plane:
Now please show the flag on McCain's plane?
Not that flags and saluting and lapel badges are much of an election issue as some would have us believe but every single one of these BS lies have been proved to be malicious, without substance or truth and have been debunked.

Both have contradicting ways to "fix" everything that is currently wrong here, but I feel like Obama's plans to change things are the ones that will have the greatest effect if actually put in place.
McCain's way of helping is to give tax breaks to the rich people and businesses, which, in his mind, is going to give them more money to hire more people giving more people jobs. In reality, it's likely just going to give them more money to spend on updating equipment or making their paychecks even larger than they already are. I mean, who really needs to be making more than $1 million a year for their salary (no including bonuses, benefits, stock options)? If you can't make a living off of that, you aren't going to make a living off of anything more than that either and are going to be in the poor house regardless.
Obama on the other hand seems to care more about the average person. His tax plan is basically going to help 99% of the population, likely 99.5%+. The only people it is really hurting are those making millions of dollars per year, and honestly, it's like I said before. Those that are actually going to see a tax increase are going to survive, if they don't, they never deserved that much money to begin with. If the average joe has more money in their pockets, they'll spend more money and that will eventually get money into businesses and help the economy that way. The only way I see the country coming out of the current economic situation is by large amounts of government spending here at home. Re-direct the $600 billion dollars that are going to the military here to fix roads, bridges, parks, and other public services. It will give people jobs and make the country nicer in the process.
