If you know who the manufacturer of the device is, you can go to the website of the manufacturer and download and save the XP driver while in Vista and then boot back into XP and update it from a known location rather than from the internet, then choose the location you saved the driver to.

you can choose to find the driver yourself, whereby you navigate to the folder that hold the driver or a cd-rom. other choice is download the driver through vista and save to a folder in your computer or save to a floppy or a cd-rom and install from it when you are in windows xp

If you can access the device manager via Vista, you should be able to find out exactly what type of card it is. Then just use google to get the correct drivers.

you might have to give your computer a specified ip, cause dhcp might be broken, then connect by hard wire. check the ip address and reset the router by clearing the dram, thats different for every router though
