My Intel QX770 is overheating to about 237 degrees Fahrenheit. With a ninja 2 heat sink should i switch to liquid cooling or get and Asus Triton heat sink?

Very nice CPU. I'd say first try a good thermal paste like Arctic Silver 5 or Antec Formula 5 and pay special attention to cleaning off the stuff you are using at the moment if it's not one of those. Also how one spreads the thermal paste is important and one only needs a very thin evenly spread layer covering the base of the heatsink for it to be effective.
Those temps you mention seem way out and it may be a good idea to check out other temperature monitors like speedfan or mbm (mother board monitor).
The Ninja 2 looks like a decent enough heatsink. Is the fan working properly?
Are you overclocking too much by the way kuzurame?

Well I'm still figuring out how to over clock on the striker II extreme so its not over clocked just yet and i applied the perfect amount of thermal paste, for cleanliness it was installed out of the box so its pretty clean.
The fan works great but its like nothing is happening between the heat sink and proccesor its on the correct way (I read the direction 50 times before i installed it) so I'm not so sure
yet with a crappy little Zalman that isn't on correctly its at 134 degrees
Fahrenheit

I agree with Graham, those temps seem off the wall, and it wouldn't hurt to use another program to check them with.
Another thing you might check is which way the case fans are turning so you have good airflow in the case. I have gotten cases in with the all the fans blowing in, so although there was a lot of air movement it didn't cool the computer at all.
Just to verify that you used the correct amount and the correct procedure to apply the thermal paste, here is an excellent guide. To much, is just as bad or worse than not enough.

Well The airflow in the case is pretty good i checked it all earlier, three fans pushing cold air in 3 fans pushing hot air out.
The case is an Antec 1200 if you need to know that in case there is something you know about it.
I am also using Zalman ZM-STG1 thermal grease. I applied it to the CPU with the included brush just the perfect amount was on the CPU so I'm not so sure
but the Zalman i have in now is working better with an AM 2 instead of an LG775 clip on the same processor.

Well with the case open the CPU stays at 40-42 degrees Celsius with the same crappy little zalman and with the case closed its at 48-51 degrees Celsius. I'm gonna go with liquid cooling my mother board is set up for that anyway.
And something I failed to mention earlier was when I pulled the ninja 2 off of my motherboard the bottom of the heat sink was totally clean so I'm pretty sure that it made no contact with the CPU.

Yea, if there was no thermal grease when you took the ninja off, there's no way it could have been making good contact, which would definitely lead to skyrocketing temps.

Yea I don't agree with the way they want you to install it its just like the stock Intel cooler a, push pin to put a heat sink in place. Its sooo stupid Just screw it in with a back plate keep it simple.

well thats quite a respectable temperature, my cpu is idling at around 48C at the moment.
thats mainly because its summer and the big windows in my room REALLY heat this place up, although they have the opposite effect in winter, so i have to oc my cpu further just to try and heat the room up
