hope someone can shed some light
i hv a new pc with specs
amd phenom 9500 yesss the buggy one darn amd
gigabyte ga-ma78gm s2h rev 1.1
onboard video

installation of vista 32bit is fine and runs for hours on end no problems!
the problem is when i shut down and wait like 10 min later
i cant boot!

post is ok
winload, ntrklpa is corrupt the standard stuff

restart using the vista disk and do recovery ..done that!!! happens again and countless times. this is even after a clean install and immediately shutdown
done it with all four of my hdd and only one at a time...even a clean install with my old xp shows the same error system files is corrupt

my present workaround is to use restore every time i start my pc which i m quite afraid of ..i m resorting to using my older pc with xp most of the time..

anyone can help please...thank u
regards
lee whistle

have put m hdd on ide, ahci interfaces etc
repartition , reformated all my 4 drives etc
i only use one drive at a time!!!

still the same thing happens,,activated my vista upgrades to sp1 still the same thing.

i rekon its the m/b , cpu ..only thing is i, its a replacement m/b for one i killed due to a bad flash..will be fixing that one soon..it ran fine on the dead one ..hahah

Do you have a video card you can try as opposed to the onboard graphics?

Just shutting down should not cause the registry to become corrupt. It may be the driver for the onboard graphics is your problem though and a cheap video card may solve your issue.
Another thing I have heard about the board is it has issues with certain memory conflicting with the CPU or visa versa so you have to make sure your memory works with your CPU, they have a list I think on the website.
Try taking one of your sticks of Ram out and see if it works then.

yes i been considering a new video card..would be my next step i suppose..but i will try to fix the dead m/b first its rev 1.0 and the one wit the problem is rev 1.1
and i try the ram thing thks

i just suspect its a faulty m/b..or maybe go back to f2 bios its current on f5 so there has been problems
and video ones too
but it also happens with vista default video drivers in 800x600 mode i hv spent quite alot of moey already sigh

It may be that your memory isn't on the approved list for your CPU I.e. if your CPU is the Phenom 9500 it works with RAM X and not Y and if you use another CPU it works with Ram Y and not Ram X is what I understand about your MB.

maybe i checking website now..but i don not get crashes when i m using it..in fact right now..if memory problems then it would be random freezers and blue screen i think.

i used for hours on end and its ok
smooth sailing here ....i think its the bios after post..somehow ...black hole phenom..
