Running Vista Home Premium, and whenever I go to a video site like Youtube and start a video, the sound is horrible and jerky while its playing and loading at the same time. Once the entire video is loaded, the sound is perfect. I have to pause the video and let the entire thing load before watching it if I want good sound. What can I do to fix this? The video part starts fine, just the audio is bad.

What's your connection speed ATM (test it)? Do you always have/had these issues? If nothing has changed on your rig then I would suspect your connection if this happens on all videos over a period of time.YT is sometimes slow on the weekends.

I have a 10 mbps connection that runs a consistant 8 mb in tests. It used to work fine but in the last 5 weeks or so the problem started, I've ran every test I can think of and can find no problems.

Hmm, so all's well in device manager too? If it's a driver issue then I'll get a friend over here as he's pretty good at it.

The device manager looks good, no issues. All my games sound good, and the videos sound good once their fully loaded. Just choppy until then.

I'll point my friend to this thread, perhaps he has an idea as he runs Vista too and is a youtube freak. Can't hurt eh?

Not sure how much help I'll be. I've seen this problem in several forums, but haven't seen a definite cure.
The first and easiest thing to try, would be to uninstall and reinstall the latest Flash player. Sometimes there can be a problem with the reinstall, so uninstall with this:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe
And this is the newest version:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BUIGP
Also, is your audio driver updated from it's site?
Did you get an audio update from Windows about the time you noticed the problem? If so, that could be messing with your sound.
If you use Realtek audio:
I noticed that my HP just got a Realtek HD update, but I'm not sure if there is a Windows one due or already out, possibly that may have something to do with your problem?
I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if the reinstall helped.

PROBLEM SOLVED! I do have a realtek audio device and that was the problem, I got the latest driver for it and its working good again.
Thanks alot, I had just updated all my drivers not that long ago and didn't know there was a newer one.
