First off, I've got a HTPC setup along with my surround sound, and absolutely love listening to music with it. What I would like to be able to do, however, is distribute that audio throughout the house to other receivers. I've already got two media extenders in the house (A PS3 and an old modded XBOX) and they're great at what they do, but what I'd like to be able to do is listen to a song on my stereo in my room, living room, and whatever other room I want to, so I can walk through the house, and be listening to the same song.
I thought of simply running an RCA cable out of the receiver that my HTPC is currently hooked up to, then going to a distribution device that would allow me multiple outputs. That idea got old real fast, as I realized I would not only be spending large dollar amounts on cable, but also spending time in my attic running these cables. Now if that is the only way, I suppose I shall just have to deal with the hassle and run the wiring.
This is when I got the brilliant idea to go grab an old bluetooth dongle I had lying around, and install it on my HTPC. After I got that up and running, I grabbed a Plantronics
Pulsar 260 with a simple 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter to get RCA cables out.
Now here is where my question finally comes in, I got the bluetooth dongle to transmit audio to the pulsar, but only as the default audio device, which cut the audio going to the sound card. So does anyone know of a way to either get the audio to the other rooms an easier way, or know of a way to get Vista to do audio out on two devices simultaneously.
