I am getting error message as follows:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe
Abnormal program termination.

I disabled all add-ons but to no avail.
I posted this on ms news group but got no response.
Things I can think of to fix this is to restore a restore point, restore the backup or reinstall the OS. Is there better solution than the above?

Could anyone help?

Edit: Creation of restore point is disabled so it is not available.

check in device manager for any problems first.

Update your video driver.

Thanks for your reply.
I do not see any problem on Device Manager.
I updated the display driver to the latest version but it did not help(It was a good opportunity to do so though).

try flushing your dns

open a command prompt and type this "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotation marks

Do know how to clear all your temp internet files, cookis, and history and if that doesn't work.

go to the tools menu of IE; then options; then the advanced tab; and click on the reset button

I thought IE could never be uninstalled. How can it be uninstalled?

Go to control panel; programs and features, and uninstall it
