Vista market share grows only 2.56 per cent over the last year

Gee that's hardly any growth at all for Vista. Wonder how it will fare in the current year?

Quite interesting also to see just how little OS market share Apple's Mac OS X and Linux hold although both show growth from last year.

Those are very interesting stats TV-VCR. XP rules OK!

Vista has it's place in the "evolution" of operating systems and I do tend to agree with MS that Vista uptake will follow the pattern that XP did. I for one was a late adopter of XP and stuck with Windows 98SE for a good two years after XP went RTM, mainly because of program compatibility.

I upgraded my wifes computer that she bought from Dell that came with ME to XP as soon as I could because ME was, well this is a family forum so I can' use that language here, so I guess we were an early adopter. But at the time it had it's issues with hardware and all that. I haven't had the same issues with Vista, but then we have all decent hardware on all of of our computers. The lowest computer we have is the one my wife bought from Dell, a Pentium 3 w/900MHz cpu and I think it would run Vista.

It's interesting to note, based off the chart, that Leopard has done quite well for itself. XP is alright, but Vista is being shafted.

I don't know why it's being bad-mouthed so much, as Vista is bloody stable (especially post SP1)...and I haven't had as many issues with it by default than when I had first gotten XP.

But it will go up eventually.
