hey guys, what is the best way to set up a login system? i guess i would have to set up a database of some kind?

I would say that it depends on what people are logging in for. If it's something like a file download site, then you could just use one (or a few) username/password combos with .htaccess/.htpasswd authentication with Apache. If it's more like a forum or user signup system, then something that is database driven would be better.

I would explain it but there are many tutorials out there for this.

I picked the best one i know of for you. This is a complete member system with signup and login.
