Just curious what the rest of you think about this subject. It's come up a few times recently in my life and while a lot us usually joke about being/having OCD I often wonder if certain personalities do in fact have slight to moderate OCD. Honestly, I've always thought I was rather OCD on certain things; lately I've started to think more so. Some habits I've picked up my wife has concurred seem more like OCD than just a regular habit. We joke about it, but it's got me thinking how common it is amongst folks with similar personalities. If you're OK with posting your scores, I'd be curious to see how the rest of you rank. I know *most* of you pretty well after all the years and want to see how we match (or don't) up, LOL.

I was a 21 on one test, but was as high as 24 on another. So I guess that definitely puts me in the OCD category. rolleyes

Please refrain from retaking the test 3 or 4 times like I have, j/k LOL lol

I am tight with money but my wife is tighter. I am clean but my wife is CLEANER. Yada, yada, yada, you get the point

My wife is worse than I and she scored a 27 on it.

Hahahaha, I scored a 3. lol I don't give a crap about much except cooking and I think that's more to do with pride rather than being OCD. What, that chili is too hot? whistle (after I mistakenly substituted cayenne for chili powder!) :roflmao:

For those that don't know me, I'm a really laid back guy if you haven't noticed yet and not much disturbs me, at least not of myself. I don't have a perfectly manicured lawn or house, and my driveway is made of pea gravel. All perfectly fine by me.smile

BTW, I think that test is flawed, too easy to cheat on oneself and too easy to get fooled too. One question asked was about how one lit their cigarettes. Of course I do it the same way inside or out. Just a force of habit because of the weather here. One cups their hand around the lighter.

I don't think that's OCD. rolleyes

In my psychology 101 class that I took during fall 07, we talked about abnormal behavior and what should be defined as abnormal behavior. The professor made a pretty solid conclusion.

He said that everyone has a bit of everything and it's perfectly normal. Heck even when it comes to multiple personality disorder (we watched a video on MPD) even all of us have multiple personalities such as how we present ourselves to strangers, friends, family, etc. (People struck with Multiple Personality Disorder usually have lots of different kinds of personalities and in this video we watched this one person had 50).

The only case where it becomes a problem is if it is shown to the extreme end of things and I will agree with him on that. I think that everyone has a bit of OCD, but rest assured it's not a problem until it becomes a problem and most people who have OCD do know that it is a problem!

When someone gets 'frozen' into some routine/behaviour that affects their ability to function effectively, then I would classify that as a disorder. I'm just an armchair psychoanalyst, but then aren't we all eh?

I scored a 1, (images of death or other horrible events). I constantly have visions of falling down the stairs at home.

I scored a 12 and hubby an 8. This is a surprise because I've alway obsessed about how hubby lines his tool up exactly, and can tell when I even looked at them lol
