OK, my mom's computer just started going haywire yesterday/today. When you try to boot it, about 70% of the time it stops with a message that says:

Code:
The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum.

I've googled it and am currently running a chkdsk (which is taking ages). Anyone have any first-hand experience with this?

Yeah I would definitely check things out with the HD first
chkdsk, cable and all that

Not sure about the CMOS battery but I suppose it is possible
