LCWeb is a project that I've been working on in my spare time for a little while now. I basically had to prove to myself (and then the world) that even the oldest, most seemingly-useless computer I've still got in the house can be put to some use in the Internet age.

So, I turned my 68020-powered Mac LC into a webserver, and it hosts a tutorial on how to do it with your own. A triumph for old-school computer addicts everywhere.

It resides at lcweb.waage.be.

Well, the cool thing about the LC is that one can get a 10mbps Ethernet card for its bizarre "PDS" slot. I actually have a wireless network here, so for the LC to get its connection it has another computer (my "real" web server [www.waage.be]) capturing the network connection and routing it to the LC. It was a port forwarding and configuration nightmare at first, but now that it's all set up it's pretty nice. Plus I have to use a bizarre port because my ISP won't allow the use of 80 in that way. Still, after all that work, I've got another toy to drive up my electric bill with, so it was worth it.
