I'd trust IE7/8 ahead of Safari as far as security goes. I don't care if it is 200ms faster at rendering a page, as far as I'm concerned, most stuff coming from Apple are like swiss cheese, full of holes. They've been releasing more and more patches and fixes since coming into the mass market, though no one ever hears about it cause "Macs are safer and more secure..."

I just got an automatic update from Apple Software Downloads to install Safari on my Vista PC. I figured, why not?

Thoughts? I haven't tried it yet.

I don't like the fact that Apple Update wants to keep on automatically installing new junkware on my PC, and being noisy and focus-stealing as well, and I am far happier now that I have deactivated it <g>

Along with the above, Safari is ugly. I grabbed the PC version last year and was totally unimpressed! It got uninstalled within a day.

Oh, I only allow it because it's Vista on my test PC, so I need it to see how things work with Vista. I don't have it on my primary PC or laptop.

Okay, thanks. I was just curious so I installed it.

Oh, you are running Vista on your test PC -- cool thumbsup

Did you manage to get the slipstreamed SP1, or did you do an upgrade with the standalone KB file ?
