What's the maximum file size there? I'm always put off by the limit on the file size one can store at these free storage sites.

You can also check out the new FolderShare beta that just started recently. It would be great for online backups after a reformat/reinstall or to keep files in sync between computers.

i tried it some weeks ago but not very happy the way files {images} are uploaded. i am familiar with picasa photo upload and seem it like it better

Yeah, I'd agree with that one and think that MS should add the ability of photo uploading to Skydrive to WL Photo Gallery. Google's Picasa is much nicer though for uploading photos.
