I just recently purchased a 160GB WD Passport and I absolutely love this thing. Normally I am a little hesitant about WD products but this particular one seems to be very good. But the coolest thing is that I just discovered XAMPP which can be installed on a portable HD which then can be your portable Web Server. This really makes it much easier to work on all my little projects around here and there.
I think I already have moved over my entire web development projects onto here and then on my desktop and laptop have both of them being mirrored.
Pretty cool stuff what they have come up with these days. I almost feel out of touch with technology. Guess thats what happens when you are on the SE side of things.

My biggest problem is the phone support. They only allow 30 days support from the day that you actually call. After that you have to pay.
But aside from that, their external HD's have major problems with power outlets. My one external HD has an issue where I can only install it in certain outlets in my house. It just won't power on and after speaking with Tech Support and browing the net discovered that most of their drives with Spindown that need an outlet have this problem.

I love my old-school WD passport (silver). I've had it probably 3-4 years now, and almost every day it's in my cargo pocket at school. Hasn't failed me yet! I trust WD drives more than any others

The passports seem to be very well designed. Since it runs off the PC power I guess they really couldn't screw up that much. But yeah, I just bought a case for mine which it too fits in my pocket. I was going to buy a 16GB thumbdrive but then saw these 160GB for the same price and the went off.

Yep, that's what I do all my apache/php/mysql tinkering on, it's great to be able to sit down *anywhere* even on a locked down computer lab system, plug in my usbkey, and have a fully functional webserver on hand that supports all you'd ever *really* need for most jobs ... which means it's also very nice for demo-ing a design to someone, without having to deal with any network issues between you and your sandbox.
Add in a few things like Firefox, Notepad++, and the Gimp through portableapps, and you have a full web design system (though not WYSIWYG) in your pocket that you can use pretty much anywhere that you have a windows box with a usb port.
(EDIT: typos, doh!)
