The newest update of the K Desktop Environment for Linux (KDE 4) looks great on paper (or rather the internet). However after I installed it, it leaves a lot to be desired. It's great that they've worked on the icons a bit but they've moved backwords in a lot of ways.

I'll try to get some screenshots up in a few minutes to show how bad it is.

Scratch that, installing KDE4 screwed up my system. KDE 3 was good enough for me lol - why did I have to play with fire? HAHA

Why would I want to screw up Windows with KDE 4??? LOL

It was actually annoying that an upgrade could be so bad but those of you who have had trouble with Vista I'm sure are no stranger with disliking upgrades.

Yeah, it was easy to install in Kubuntu as well. It was the interface I was mostly objecting to.

What do you think? Perhaps I'm just taking this too far.

I actually like having a GUI on my FreeBSD server box, mainly because I like compiling stuff in the terminal so I can scroll back to see a problem much easier. Since I'm never really doing much else with it, and the fact that it isn't a taxed server, the GUI does next to nothing.
