Well, so far I've been having a lot of fun with making PCBs in my pcb program (I've made a calculator PCB and half of a PCB for a modem thumbsup), however I was curious, I was wanting to make my own custom computer.

Would a company like Asus be willing to make me a custom motherboard just for my use? Or any other company? The price doesn't matter at all.

And, if none of them would want to even listen to me, what would be another solution? confused

Cheers.

Another alternative is to search for engineers that do this type of work. Possibly in your local area and maybe even create a partnership with them.

I doubt they will just make a custom one without first pre-ordering hunderds/thousands. It is not worth them building something that won't generate income for them.

However, you might be able to find parts/supplies to build your own MB.

If you wanted a custom mobo from a hardware manufacturer, at least a mainstream one, the cost is going to be through the roof. You'd have better luck doing what Jason suggested and looking for someone local that does so on a small scale as the cost for them making a single, or just a few mobos is going to be lower than a major operator doing the same thing without the future intention of selling the product.

What's the exact name of business called? I've searched for "PCB engineer" but that brings back nothing.

Honestly I don't even know what you would search for

I think you'd be better off just teaching yourself how to make them smilenod

IIRC a basic motherboard design is not hugely difficult to put together, provided you have the time, will, basic electronic workshop resources (garage, basement, spare room, whatever), and finances to invest in such a project --- from then on, the sky's the limit...

it would probably just be easier to by a nice motherboard.. and just use it. you can look on ebay for an old pc, like from the 70s or something, and copy the trace, and go from there..
