Unlike most of you I didnt grow up with major consoles PS/Sega/Nintendo all i had was a MAC ... so i cant play with a controller only keyboard and mouse,
Who would have the advantage PC with its Keyboard and mouse, Or the console with the Controller?
What about being at a Lan where PC and Xbox players can play on one server?
Is it possible to create a game that links all consoles and PC to one mass server bank???

Well MS said that Gear of War will be able to be played on Xbox 360 and PC. So will Halo 2 supposedly when it comes out.
I really want to try this out!!!!
I think the PC will win for sure! Seriously the controller for 1st person shooters is horrible. There is no doubt that the PC dominates for HALO, Gears of War, Fear, Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament.
But consoles do have there place.... casual games. (Wii) lol
But seriously... gaming on a MAC? All 2 of the games they made? Or u just waited the 4 years till they ported it over? hehe. j/k.

I think that using a mouse and keyboard gives you a major advantage, atleast when you are playing a fps game. The rpgs might be equal using a controller, but on a fps game the mouse and keyboard make a huge difference in the ability to move your character. To see what I mean play Call of Duty 4 on xbox then try it on pc. You will notice that the pc version is a lot more fast paced and harder.

wow-ee! old topic, well hands down the PC wins; compared to the console, the PC has a bigger market anyways, the console is just for those games that don't fit with the PC (all the bad games, mixed in with some great titles).

I dont really care what people say. Anyone who can at least play CS:S or a FPS game on a PC and kill people will definately own someone playing with a analog controller. For Xbox 360 there is an addon called XFPS 360. google it. I need to get one but it allows you to play witha keyboard and mouse on a XBOX 360. hahah it would be so much fun to own people with that!

Yes... consoles have a chopped down version of, essentially, aimbots but let's leave that out of there.
While I am an avid PC gamer, more and more people are flocking towards consoles it seems and for good reason too. The average user that looks at a box will buy a game without regards to the system requirements and if the game will run they will complain that the game runs horrendously.
Consoles simplify so many things that in the end it's easier for people to buy console and console games.
Not to mention the fact that consoles hvae better anti-piracy features, more and more devs would be willing to make games for consoles.
I fear that we are already seeing a trend. If you think about it, most games are now being ported to the PC from consoles rather than the other way.

That's one of the things that really does tend to swing it. My brother's a staunch console gamer. He recently bought himself a laptop for doing simple stuff, nothing fancy. He then decided that he wanted to play games on it as well. He was somewhat annoyed when the stuff he purchased refused to run on the laptop because it wasn't the right spec. Years of buying games for consoles made him simply forget that, with consoles, if it says Playstation on the box, it'll work in any Playstation (region coding notwithstanding) but it doesn't always work like that for PCs.
I play games on both PC and Console and, in the last few years, have had to upgrade various components a number of times in order to keep up with the latest in PC games. It's cost me a pretty penny to keep up to date. To do the same with the console games I simply moved from PS2 to PS3. When you consider that I had the PS2 for about seven years before I had to pay out for the new version, it was considerably cheaper, hardware wise, and certainly easier to get up to date with the console than it was with the PC.
Of course, the games on consoles tend to cost more than they do for PC but that's part of the trade-off, I guess!

But that makes it only easier and better for us as PC gamers. If you don't have a computer decent enough to run a game well then you cant really be called a gamer. A gamer normally custom builds their own computers and frequently upgrades them.

A PC gamer certainly does build their own machines and keep up to date with components, as I said...

...but with a console there's no need to spend inordinate amounts of cash constantly bettering your system. As I said, if it says Playstation (or Xbox/Wii) on the box, it'll run on that console, no questions asked. Makes games much more readily available to those who can't always afford to be permanently spending cash to keep a PC up to date.
Both platforms have their upsides and downsides. PCs certainly have more versatility in what they can do and you do have the advantage of being able to replace individual compents rather than the whole unit. Consoles have, traditionally, been more limited and the ability to upgrade them is limited, currently, to replacing the HDD with a bigger unit. However, with the advent of the Next Gen consoles having USB/WiFi/Bluetooth, etc, built in, there's no reason on Earth why you shouldn't be able to plug a keyboard/mouse combo into your console and start playing games with them.
Also, one of the PC's big advantages was the availability of custom content on the Internet. Now consoles have network capability built in, again, there's no reason why such content can't start to appear for them. In fact, most console games are already having maps and upgrades released for them.
I'm not arguing that consoles are better than PCs for gaming, far from it, but each platform has it's advantages and disadvantages and the lines between the two are becoming more blurred as console tech. advances.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. A PC gamer.
Some of my friends in college say it was stupid of me to get a new computer rather than an Xbox 360. From my perspective I think it's a ripoff. I argue $50 a year and they go "... it's a YEAR" and I also argued that games are $20 more expensive than console games yet they do not see anything wrong with that.
$300 for a Xbox 360. Let's say I bought 3 $70 titles and 2 $40 titles. $290. Xbox live $50. A new TV since I don't want to haul a CRT TV. $200.
That's $840 not including tax. With tax I would have already paid for my new computer WITH a nice graphics adapter. Say, a 4850.
To them they don't see it... Ah shoot I could just be biased as well. I don't think comfort always came at a cheap price anyway
My case against consoles is far from the whole keyboard/joystick argument. I think using that as an argument is weak. To me it's all about the money. I could have bought a Xbox 360, yes but for the same price I bought a new computer which I needed pretty bad as my laptop is now starting to act funky due to a diet coke spill. I also have the expertise that most of them don't (no offense to them) that I know what I'm doing
