I am in need of a US based proxy so I can access sites that constantly give me the incredibly annoying, "Your IP is from outside the US, therefor F***you!" type messages.

It does not need to be an anonymous proxy, and I would be willing to use a pay service if it is fast and offers some type of "test drive" so I can be sure that it will suit my needs.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm curious. What is the website anyway?

Most recently, netflix is giving me the message and denying me access to several website features. Every time I try to buy something online I have to jump thru 10 hoops when my IP doesn't match the cards location, not to mention that many websites default to other languages, even thou I would much rather they display in English. Also, several online news sites will not let me signup giving messages like, "our service is available only to US residents" Its just getting old, and if there is any reliable way to make the websites think I am in the US, and therefor stop blocking my access, I want to make it happen.

If that's the case, it's necessary for the sake of security (for you and for them). I don't recommend making an online transaction through a proxy, even though it's a paid service from a trusted company.

But if you just want to browse the web, you can try using Google Accelerator or other web accelerators. Those are softwares that connect to a proxy owned by the same company/organization that make the software. If you want to use one (or buy its service), make sure the company's proxy server is located within US. Find out more about web accelerators at Wikipedia. The page has a list of web accelerators and some details. There are also other links for further hunting at the bottom of the page. Enough to get you started.

Thanks for the advice. I just tried the google accelerator, but the websites saw right thru it so they still denied me access. I also tried a few of the other programs, and they were either the same or had proxies of their own that are outside of the US.

I am trying the demo of anonymizer.com's software, which does work, but is painfully slow.

Can anyone recommend a faster service?
