I actually think i might buy a 32GB SSD and install XP on it. that can be done right? in fact can SSD's be used on a SAS controller? if so hten i will get 4 16GB drives and RAID 0 the 4 drives....

I don't know if SSDs have any method of being put in desktop systems as of yet. I haven't looked into them too much due to the price and the fact I'm currently more interested in large amounts of storage rather than speed, but I've only seen their use for laptops. I'm sure you could find a way to put them in a desktop and form a RAID array somehow, but the price is going to be up there as NT50 mentioned.

Hey I remember when the same size HD was the same price.....Wanta bet that within a year its at $1,000 and two years less than $500 and thats for SATA drive IDE drives are cheaper but top out at 32GB

PS thanks imnuts for telling me about it at Newegg haven't been there for awhile embarrassed
